About Us:
My husband Dave and I started a small t-shirt and greeting card business called Kooky Uke focusing on the small, but mighty ukulele. We have so much fun running it and creating designs that we decided to create Shred My Couch as a sister store focusing on our feline friends. We love ukes and cats!
I hand or digitally draw, carve or paint the designs and then turn it into a screen print or other products like enamel pins, socks, and patches. We live in Eureka, CA, and occasionally do in-person events.
We have a few boutiques that carry our items in California, Oregon, Texas USA, and a lovely shop located in Australia.
Quality:
It is important that each Shred My Couch piece is of the highest quality from the design, materials, and the final product shipped to you. We work hard at finding materials that support small businesses and make a small footprint on this earth with eco-friendly practices. We use Bella+Canvas, American Apparel, and Alternative Earth brands. We are proud that we only print on the best tees in the business. Each brand is sweatshop-free and responsibly sourced.
Giving Back:
We are passionate about helping organizations in-person and through our financial support. A few of the organizations we have donated to include: Meow.org (Bakersfield, CA), Cat Adoption Team (Portland, OR), Animal Foundation Network (Arcata, CA), Shadow Cats (Florida), MeoowzResq.org (Orange County, CA) WindyKitty Cafe Kickstarter (Chicago), Cat Hustler, Companion Animal Foundation (Arcata, CA) and Sequoia Humane Society (Humboldt County, CA).
Our Staff:
We have a great staff at Shred My Couch. We couldn't make it happen without Dave, the Cat Staff (Ella Mae, Piper, Bee, Tucker) and Molly, the Dog Staff in training.
I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking and Drawing. As a visual artist, I have shown my work nationally and internationally.
